So updating once a month isn't that bad right? I promise I'll always fill in the gaps even if it's ONE LONG POST!
We just returned Tuesday from Tulsa, OK. My baby sister is officially a WIFE! It was a whirlwind time and rainy and colder than we expected but ironically her wedding day was bright, sunshiny and 85 degrees. Probably the prettiest day the whole time and of course, she had an outside wedding. Just reminded me that God is good and He will provide the desires of our heart. Ironically one more sign to me that our HBAC will be a huge success.
I also learned that we'll really need to spend some time on a detailed birth plan. My grandma has a torn rotator cuff. This is the second time. The first time it happened when all my family lived in Homestead still and grandma lived with us for about 3 months. Now she's in Bradenton, I'm in Miami (AND PREGNANT!) and mom is in a completely different state. So mom and dad are trying to figure it all out so grandma gets the help and care that she will need and she doesn't want to leave her home. Also, my in laws will be in Texas the weekend baby Zeek is due because grandma Sally celebrates her 85th birthday 8/16 and they'll be having a celebration for her 8/15. To top things off, school starts in Miami on 8/24 which the twins will be going to school for 2 1/2 hours this year and Tim Miner (who is hopefully going to play a role in our birth plan) works for the school system. AND his wife, Katie, has applied to work in the school system starting in August as well! ANNNDDDD my mom works in the school system in Tulsa and her first day (with students) is the 24th also (actually might be the 17th! I need to confirm that). But she is supposed to start working sooner than that. So it makes for a slightly harder birth plan. But we will have success. We have enough support around us and God is good. It will fall in his perfect timing!
As mentioned, we met with the doulas on Friday 4/10. What an AWESOME meeting! We haven't signed anything or left a deposit but we will be moving forward with Sara Arrate and her partner Geri. We have already reached out to them to set our first prenatal appointment and leave our deposit. Beautiful, wonderful and extremely knowledgeable ladies! I couldn't be more excited to work with them! They answered many of my questions and concerns, they offered some fabulous advice in dealing with my anemia. It was just overall one of the best meetings I've had since we first met with Miriam. And they were so sweet to my boys and so excited and supportive of how involved we want the boys in this process. All great things for me!
Today the boys and I are up and getting ready for our appointment with Miriam. I am 25 weeks tomorrow (crazy)! So we'll discuss my gestational diabetes testing which most likely will take place next week. We also have a few other things to discuss and hopefully I won't have gained too much weight during my travels! ::fingers crossed::
